More Sad News

I'm sorry that the blog hasn't been such a fun place here lately, but I need to ask you for your prayer support again.

My friend Melissa (the family we spent Easter Sunday with) lost her 13 year old nephew last night in a four wheeling accident. They are a very close family and I know you can all understand the devastation they are experiencing. Please pray for his parents, his two sisters, and for all these aunts, uncles, and cousins.

This past Sunday, we read the story in Luke of the widow who lost her only son. Jesus was passing by as the funeral procession made it's way down the street and Luke tells us that when Jesus saw her, "He had compassion on her." I pray that this family would feel the compassion of Christ in the midst of their hurting.

Hey, Aimee, Nickole here. Don't know how to get an ID, but I just happened to decide to check on your blog tonight and saw this. We were at the Louisburg emergency room that night when Kelsey was wheeled in. Has to be the same story, b/c I found out later he was 13 and it was an ATV accident. We were in the cubby hole right across from trauma. Shylah busted her eyebrow open, deep cut, but anyway, as we waited (forever - understandably we were not priority) we prayed as a family for that boy, as it was obvious from EMS crying, nurses upset, the man who brought him in just wailing, that this was really bad. We prayed for healing and then when family started coming in after he passed away (a LOT of family) it was heartbreaking, just wailing and wailing, such sadness. The younger sister was having the hardest time...Just broke our hearts... I am really glad I stumbled upon this - this boy and his family have been on our hearts as we pray for them, and have cried for them. Maybe it will comfort the family member you know,to know that there was a family there that night praying for the boy, and praying for them in their grief, and still pray for them. :'-(

Nickole -I will definitely tell Melissa and her family about you guys being there. They are doing well but obviously still having "bad days."

The man who brought him in was his father. And yeah, they are a BIG family and very close as you saw by their presence at the hospital. Thanks for praying for them! I know they will appreciate it, too.

I thought that was the father, just wasn't sure. And we were incredibly impressed by how close the family obviously is, with so many extended family coming, and so quickly. It was obvious. Just wanted to note that - we were so struck by that.

Dear, sweet Tara --hundreds of people who have seen my physique are laughing their heads off right now. I would LOVE to go hiking with you. But I must know whether YOU are up to carrying the oxygen tank and 40 pounds of Aspercream?

=) I'll see how much endurance I can muster between now and then. Can't wait to see you!!!!!
